ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Random indexing

Random indexing is a way of giving meaning to words in a computer's memory. It works by creating random numbers that are associated with each word in a collection of words. When the computer needs to use a word, it looks up the word's associated random number and uses it to figure out what the word means. This way, a computer can learn to understand words without knowing what they mean in advance. Each time the computer looks up a word, it learns something new about that word.
