Reading stone

Hey kiddo! Do you know what reading is? It's when we look at words and understand what they mean. Now, imagine if you couldn't read the writing on paper or books because it was too small or blurry. That would be really hard, wouldn't it?

Well, a long time ago, there were no books or paper. People used something called stone to write on. But sometimes, the writing on the stone was hard to read because it was worn down or dirty.

That's where reading stones come in! Basically, they are stones that have been specially prepared to make the writing on them easier to read. First, the stone is polished smooth so that the writing is clear. Then, a special kind of ink is used to make the writing stand out more. Finally, the stone is sometimes heated up to make the ink really stick and last a long time.

So, reading stones are like super clear books made out of stone! Pretty cool, huh?
