ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Real point

Okay, imagine you have a pencil. When you draw with the pencil, the tip of the pencil leaves a mark on the paper, right? Now, imagine that the tip of the pencil is VERY tiny, so tiny that you can't even see it with your eyes. This tiny tip is called a "real point." When you use a tool like a microscope or a laser, you can see the real point more closely and use it to do very precise things like cutting or measuring. Basically, a real point is a very small, but very important thing that helps scientists and engineers do really amazing things.
