Recall memory is like a big filing cabinet that our brain uses to store all the things we have learned or experienced. When we need to remember something, our brain searches through this filing cabinet to find the information we are looking for - this is called "recalling" or "remembering".
Think of it this way: if you go to a restaurant and try a yummy new dish, your brain will store the information about the dish in your recall memory. Later on, if you want to order that dish again, your brain will search through your recall memory to remember what it was and hopefully find it in the "file" of your memory.
So, how does our brain do this? Well, our brain has over 100 billion tiny cells called "neurons" that work together to help us remember things. These neurons make connections with each other, creating a sort of "road map" in our brain that helps us find and recall memories.
Sometimes, however, our brain may have trouble finding the memory we are looking for, and we can't recall it. This is called "forgetting". But don't worry, forgetting is normal and happens to everyone! Luckily, there are things we can do to help our brain strengthen our recall memory, like repeating information out loud, writing things down, or trying to connect new information to things we already know.
