Refugees of Iraq

When people hear the word 'refugees', it means people who had to leave their homes because they were not safe anymore. Imagine playing hide and seek with your friends and you have to stop because someone keeps finding you too quickly - this is kind of like that.

In this case, many people living in Iraq had to leave their homes because of political conflicts, wars, and bombings. These people were scared for their lives and couldn't stay in their homes or even in their home country anymore, so they had to go to other places for safety.

When they go to other countries, they become known as refugees of Iraq. These refugees have to start all over again in these new countries - finding new homes, schools, friends, and jobs. They don't always speak the same language as the people who live there, so they have to learn how to speak it if they want to communicate with their new friends.

Sometimes, refugees have to leave everything they had behind - their toys, clothes, and even their families. This is a tough thing to do, and it takes a lot of bravery and strength to be a refugee. The hope is that one day the conflicts in their home country will be resolved and they'll be able to go back home, but until then they have to make the best of their new lives.
