Refund anticipation loan

A refund anticipation loan (RAL) is a type of loan that people can get when they are expecting to get money back on their taxes. When you do your taxes, the government can owe you money or you can owe the government money. If the government owes you money, you can get a loan so you can get some of that money right away instead of having to wait weeks or months for the government to send you a check. The loan company pays you and then takes their money back when the government sends you your tax refund.
