Regency era

Okay kiddo, so the regency era was a time long, long ago in England from about 1811 to 1820. This was when a man named George IV became king, but he wasn't quite ready yet to rule the kingdom all by himself. So his dad, King George III, said that he could be the prince regent instead.

During this time, people in England were super fancy and dressed in beautiful clothes and went to fancy parties. They listened to music played on pianos and danced fancy dances like the waltz. But not everyone was able to do all these fancy things because only the rich people could afford them.

There were also a lot of famous writers like Jane Austen who wrote books about love and romance and pride and prejudice. These books are still really popular today.

Overall, the regency era was a time when England was really fancy and proper, but not everyone could afford to be part of the fancy crowd.
