ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Regional assembly (England)

A regional assembly is a group of people who work together to make decisions for the area where they live. In England, there are different regions (like areas on a map) that each have their own assembly. These assemblies are made up of people who live in that region and have been chosen to represent them (sort of like a class president).

The assembly helps to make decisions about important things that affect the people who live in the region. They might talk about things like building new houses, making sure there are enough jobs for people to do, or improving public transportation. The assembly members listen to each other's ideas and then vote on what they think is the best decision for everyone in the region.

One important thing to remember about regional assemblies is that they are not the same thing as the national government (like the Prime Minister or the Queen). They only make decisions for the specific region they represent.

So, just think of the regional assembly like a group of people who work together to make things better for everyone in their area.
