Regional stock exchanges of the United States

Hey kiddo, today let's talk about regional stock exchanges in the United States!

You know how people can buy little pieces of a company called stocks? Well, companies also want to be a part of this and sell their stocks to people. They can do this by going on something called a stock exchange, which is like a big store that people can go to buy and sell stocks.

The United States has a few big stock exchanges like the New York Stock Exchange (which is where you might have seen people shouting and trading stocks in movies) and Nasdaq. But there are also smaller ones called regional stock exchanges.

These regional stock exchanges are in different parts of the country, like the Chicago Stock Exchange and the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. They are like smaller stores, but still important because they allow companies in those areas to sell their stocks to people who live and work nearby.

So just like how you might go to a small grocery store instead of a big supermarket because it's closer to your home, companies might choose to go on a regional stock exchange if it's easier for them to sell their stocks there.

That's pretty much it, kiddo! Hope that helped you understand a bit about regional stock exchanges in the United States.
