ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Reiki

Reiki is like getting a cozy, warm hug from a friend who wants you to feel better. But instead of a friend, it's a special person called a Reiki practitioner who uses their hands to give you a warm, relaxing feeling.

They don't just touch you like a regular massage, but they move their hands over your body to help your energy flow better. You might not be able to see it, but your body has energy that flows through it like a tiny river. Sometimes that river gets blocked or slows down, and that's when Reiki can help.

The practitioner will put their hands in certain places, like your head, stomach, and feet, and let their energy flow into you. It's not like getting a shot, it doesn't hurt or make you feel bad. Instead, it helps your body and mind relax and feel better.

People who get Reiki might feel like they have a warm, fuzzy feeling inside, or might feel a bit sleepy because their body is so relaxed. And because they are calm and relaxed, they might feel better able to handle whatever problems or challenges they are facing.

So think of Reiki like a happy, warm hug that helps your energy river flow better and makes you feel cozy and calm inside.
