ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Religious fanaticism

Religious fanaticism is when someone gets so strongly attached to their religion that they become too passionate or extreme in wanting to follow it. This can make them act in ways that are not always nice or rational. For example, a person might become so passionate about their religion that they want to try to make everyone follow it, even if they do not want to. They may also use violence or pressure to make other people believe as they do. This can cause a lot of conflict, and can hurt people's feelings or rights.
