ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Remote error indication

Okay kiddo, imagine you have a toy car and you want to play with it. But sometimes your car doesn't work properly and it stops moving or makes strange sounds.

Now, let's say that you have a friend who is very smart and knows a lot about toy cars. He lives far away, but he still wants to help you fix your toy car whenever it's not working.

So, what he does is he tells you to put a little light or a sound box on your toy car. This way, when your car is not working properly, the light will blink or the sound box will make a noise. And your friend can see or hear it from far away and know that your toy car needs fixing.

This is called remote error indication, which basically means using something far away to tell someone else that something isn't working properly. It helps people who know how to fix things know when and how to help, even if they are not right next to you. Pretty cool, huh?
