A renewable-energy economy is when we use energy from sources that are naturally replenish and never run out, like the sun and the wind. In a renewable economy, we use energy from the sun or wind to power our homes, factories, cars and businesses instead of energy from sources like oil, coal and natural gas that you have to dig up out of the ground, which are called "fossil fuels" and can run out over time. We also use energy from sources like water (hydropower) and plants (biomass) that can be continuously renewed, so they never run out. Using renewable energy makes sure that we have enough energy to use now, and into the future too.
