Okay kiddo, so when we look at something, like a toy or a tree, we see it with our eyes, right? And our brain interprets what we see and helps us understand what it is.
Now, there are some people who believe that what we see is exactly what is really there. But, some other people believe in something called "representative realism".
Representative realism means that what we see is only a representation, or a copy, of what is really there. Kind of like how when we take a picture of something, it's a representation of it.
So, when we look at something, we aren't seeing the exact thing, we're seeing a representation of it that our brain helps us understand. Just like if we look at a drawing of a dog, it's not a real dog, but our brain knows what a dog looks like and can understand it.
