Republic of New Africa

The Republic of New Africa is an organization that was created to help African Americans become their own nation. It was founded in 1968 by members of the civil rights movement who wanted to create a new country for African Americans to have greater control over their lives and culture. The proposed nation would be located in the southern United States and would give African Americans autonomy from the United States government. The Republic of New Africa includes ideas such as free healthcare and education, economic democracy, and environmental protection. They also aim to promote African American culture, science, music, and art. Unfortunately, the Republic of New Africa has never gained official recognition from the United States or any other nation.
