Resistant starch

Okay kiddo, so there's something called resistant starch, but it's not like a superhero or anything. It's actually a type of carbohydrate that's in certain foods.

When we eat food, our bodies break down carbohydrates into smaller pieces called sugar molecules. Our bodies then use those sugar molecules for energy, but sometimes some of the sugar molecules can't be broken down all the way.

That's where resistant starch comes in. Resistant starch is made up of those sugar molecules that we can't break down fully. But instead of just getting rid of them, our bodies treat them like fiber, which means they help our digestion and keep us feeling full.

Foods that have resistant starch include things like bananas, potatoes, beans, and whole grains. So when you eat those types of foods, you're not only getting energy but also something extra that helps your body work better!
