Reticella

Okay kiddo, so imagine you have a tablecloth or a piece of cloth you want to decorate with little holes in it. That's what reticella is!

But how do we make these tiny holes? Well, first we need to make a grid with little squares. This is called a "ground" in reticella. Once we have our ground, we use a special tool called a needle to sew threads through the squares in a specific pattern.

Now, here's where it starts to get really cool. We can use different colors of thread to make different designs! We can create flowers, leaves, or even animals.

Some people like to add tiny pearls or other decorations to their reticella designs. Imagine a little butterfly with a shiny pearl body!

So that's reticella in a nutshell! It's a fancy way of making holes in cloth and decorating them with thread designs.
