ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Revenue stamp

A revenue stamp is like a special sticker that you put on important papers or documents. The sticker shows that you have paid a special tax that is required for that particular paper or document. Just like how you need to pay for certain things like candy or toys at the store, grown-ups also have to pay for certain things like important papers they need for work or for legal reasons. The revenue stamp sticker helps show that the grown-up paid the right amount of money for that paper or document. So, it is like a receipt to show that the money has been paid!
