Reverse onus

Reverse onus means that the person who is accused of something has to prove they didn't do it, instead of the other way around.

Let's say that you and your friend are playing with a ball, and your mom accuses you of breaking a window with the ball. Normally, your mom would have to prove that you did it. But if there is reverse onus, it means that you have to prove that you did not break the window with the ball.

It's like a game of tag, where the person who is "it" has to prove that they tagged the other person, instead of the other way around.

Reverse onus can sometimes happen in court cases, where someone is accused of doing something wrong. Instead of the accuser having to prove that the person did something wrong, the accused person has to prove that they didn't do it. This can make it harder for the accused person, because they have to come up with evidence to prove their innocence.
