ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Reverse transom

Okay kiddo, so first let's talk about what a boat is. A boat is a thing that floats on water and can take people or things from one place to another place on the water.

Now, some boats have a special thing at the back called a transom. The transom is like a big flat thing that helps keep the boat stable and stops water from coming inside the boat.

A reverse transom is when the back of the boat slopes downwards instead of being flat like a regular transom. Imagine a slide at the playground that goes down instead of going straight across. That's kind of what a reverse transom looks like!

Boats with a reverse transom are designed to be faster and more efficient in the water. The sloping shape helps the boat move through the water with less resistance, which means it goes faster and uses less fuel.

So that's what a reverse transom is, a sloping back on a boat that makes it go faster and use less fuel in the water!
