ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Reversi

Reversi is a game that's played on a board with squares. Each square can either be blank, black or white. The goal of the game is to have more squares of your color (either black or white) on the board than your opponent does.

At the beginning of the game, two black and two white squares are placed in the middle of the board, with the black squares diagonal from the white squares. This is called the starting position.

Each player takes turns placing their color piece on the board. When you place a piece, you capture your opponent's pieces by sandwiching them between your piece and another piece of your own color. For example, if you place a black piece next to a white piece, and there is another black piece on the other side of the white piece, you capture the white piece and flip it over to become black.

The game ends when the board is full or when neither player can make a valid move. The player with the most squares of their color on the board at the end of the game wins.

So, to summarize, Reversi is a board game where players take turns placing their pieces and capturing their opponent's pieces by sandwiching them between their own pieces. The winner is the player who has more pieces of their color on the board at the end of the game.
