Rhizosphere

Rhizosphere is a fancy word for the area around a plant's roots. It is full of living things like bacteria, fungi, and protozoa. They help keep the soil healthy for the plant. The bacteria eat decaying plant material and make nutrients for the plant. The fungi help the plant take up water and nitrogen from the soil. Protozoa eat bacteria and other tiny organisms, which helps keep the soil from becoming too crowded with living things. All of these living organisms work together to help keep your plant healthy, so it is important to make sure the rhizosphere is healthy!
