Rick Perry

Okay kiddo, so Rick Perry is a person who used to be the governor of Texas. That's like being the boss of a really big state in America.

He also ran for president a couple of times, but he didn't win.

After he stopped being governor, he became a member of President Donald Trump's cabinet. A cabinet is a group of important people who help the president make decisions for the country.

Rick Perry's job in the cabinet was to be in charge of something called the Department of Energy. The Department of Energy is a group of people who do important things like making sure that America has enough energy to run things like cars and buildings.

So Rick Perry was a very important person who did important things for Texas and for America.
