ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Risk communication

Risk communication is when adults talk to other adults or children about things that could possibly cause harm. They use easy-to-understand words to explain what the danger is, how likely it is to happen, and what can be done to prevent it from happening. Think of it like when your parents tell you not to touch a hot stove because you might get burned. They're communicating the risk of getting hurt and telling you what to do to stay safe. Risk communication can be used in lots of different situations, like when there's a hurricane or earthquake coming, when there's a disease spreading, or when people are exposed to harmful chemicals. The goal is to make sure everyone has the information they need to make the best decisions for their health and safety.
