ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Risograph

Risograph is a fun way to make colorful pictures, kind of like a printer! But it's different from printers because it uses ink that is really special, to make your pictures look nice and bright.

First, you have to draw or create your picture on a special paper that can absorb ink really well. Then, you put that paper on a machine that looks like a big box with lots of buttons and knobs.

When you press the button, the machine starts to make a loud, buzzing sound. That's because it's making a copy of your picture! The machine uses special ink that is kind of like a marker, and it squirts that ink onto the paper in just the right places to make your picture.

If you want to add more colors to your picture, you have to put the same paper through the machine a few more times, each time using a different ink color.

When your picture is all done, it will look really cool! It might have some little spots or lines on it that you didn't expect, but that's what makes it special and unique.

So, that's what Risograph is! It's a special machine that helps you make colorful, fun pictures with special ink.
