Rivers of Blood Speech is a famous speech given in 1968 by a British member of parliament (MP) named Enoch Powell. In the speech, Powell spoke about the impact that immigration was having on Britain and his worries about what the future would be like if too many people from other countries moved to Britain. He said that British people would feel like "they were being drowned in a 'river of blood.' The speech made a lot of people very angry and upset. It led to a huge debate which helped create laws that made it harder for people from other countries to move to Britain.
