Robert Brown was a man who lived a long time ago, way back in the 1700s. He was very interested in plants and flowers, and spent a lot of time studying them.
One thing that Robert Brown noticed was that when he looked at plants under a microscope, he could see tiny particles moving around inside them. He called these particles "molecules", and they helped him to understand how plants grow and develop.
Robert Brown also discovered something else very interesting. He found that when he put a tiny particle into some water, it would move around by itself. This was something that nobody had ever seen before! He called this movement "Brownian motion", after his own name.
Thanks to his discoveries, Robert Brown became famous all around the world. Lots of other scientists started studying plants and particles like he did, and they continued to make new discoveries for many years to come.
