ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Robinson Prize

The Robinson Prize is an award given to people who are really good at math. Imagine when you're playing a game like hide and seek, and you're really good at it, so your friends always have a hard time finding you. It's the same thing with math. Some people are so good at it that they are really good at solving really hard math problems. And that's what the Robinson Prize is for.

But not everyone can win the Robinson Prize. To be able to win it, you have to be very, very good at math. The people who judge the competition are also really good at math and they look for the best of the best.

Winning the Robinson Prize means that you're not only really good at math, but you're also a bit of a detective. You have to use your knowledge of math to figure out really tricky problems that no one else has ever solved before.

So, if you're really good at math and love solving puzzles, maybe one day you could win the Robinson Prize too!
