Roe effect

Okay kiddo, you know how some animals have babies, right? Well, when a mommy animal is pregnant, she can have a boy baby or a girl baby. And when a girl animal grows up, she can have her own babies too!

Now, the Roe effect is when something happens to the girl animal's body that makes it hard to have girl babies later on. You see, girl babies need a special part in the mommy animal's body called the ovary to grow. And sometimes, some things can damage the ovary and make it harder to have more girl babies.

This is called the Roe effect because it was first noticed in deer called roe deer. Scientists noticed that when roe deer were exposed to a certain chemical, it made it harder for them to have girl babies later. And that's how they named it the Roe effect.

So, to summarize - Roe effect is when something happens that can make it harder for girl animals to have girl babies later on by damaging the part of their body called the ovary.
