Roe v. Wade

Roe v. Wade is a very important court case that happened in America. It was about a woman who was named Jane Roe (which is not her real name) who wanted to have an abortion, which means she wanted to make a baby in her tummy go away. But in America, there were laws that said it was illegal to have an abortion except in very special cases like if the mother's life was in danger.

Jane Roe went to court and said that those laws were not fair because they didn't let her and other women decide what to do with their own bodies. She also said that it was important for women to have the right to choose what happens to their bodies.

After many court hearings and discussions, the Supreme Court decided in favor of Jane Roe, saying that women do have the right to have an abortion if they choose to. This decision was also important because it made it clear that women have a right to privacy and control over their own bodies.

So Roe v. Wade is a court case that gave women the right to choose if they want to have an abortion, and it was a big step forward for women's rights and freedoms.
