Roland the Farter
Roland the Farter was a man who lived a long time ago in England, around 800 years ago. He was a famous jester, which means he was a person who made people laugh by being silly and doing funny things.
One of the things that Roland was famous for was farting. Farting is when air comes out of your butt and makes a funny noise. Roland could do this on command, which means whenever he wanted to. He became so famous for his farting that he even had a special title: "Roland the Farter, Flatulist to the King."
The king was the most important person in the land, and Roland worked for him. Whenever the king had a big feast or a special event, Roland would perform and make everyone laugh. He would do all sorts of silly things, but his farting was the thing that everyone remembered the most.
Even though it may seem silly or gross to us now, back then, farting was considered very funny and even a sign of good health. People would pay money to see Roland perform, and he became very rich and famous.
