A roll-on/roll-off discharge facility (also called RoRo for short) is a place where big ships can unload things that can be rolled on and off. This means things like cars, trucks, and other vehicles that can be driven onto the ship and then driven off again once the ship gets to its destination.
The ship has a big ramp that goes down on one end and leads onto the dock, so the vehicles can drive up onto the ship. Once the ship gets to its destination, it goes to another RoRo facility and unloads the vehicles by driving them off the ship using the same ramp.
These types of facilities are very important for moving large amounts of vehicles quickly and easily from one place to another. They are often used for things like shipping cars and trucks from one country to another, or for moving military vehicles from one base to another.
