Roman consul

A long time ago, in a place called Rome, there were important leaders called consuls. They were like two very special people who were chosen to help make decisions for the whole city.

The consuls were chosen every year, and they had to be really smart and know a lot about how to run things well. They also had to be very brave and strong in case any bad guys tried to attack Rome.

The consuls wore special clothes and had really nice houses to live in, and they got to go to important meetings where they listened to what other important people in Rome had to say. They would also make decisions together about things like how much money should be spent on building things or making wars.

The consuls were very important and everyone looked up to them because they were in charge of keeping Rome safe and happy.
