Rosenberger v. University of Virginia

Once upon a time, there was a lady named Sova Rosenberger. She wanted to start a magazine to talk about her beliefs and religion, and she wanted to share it with other students at the University of Virginia. However, the University said "no way, we can't give money to any religious group."

Sova was very upset! She thought it wasn't fair that the University could give money to other groups, like a newspaper or a club, but not to hers just because it was about religion. So she went to court and argued that the University was breaking the law by not letting her start her religious magazine.

The judges listened to Sova's arguments and decided that she was right! It is against the law for the University to only give money to some groups and not others because of their beliefs. Now, students at the University of Virginia can start religious groups and get money just like any other club.
