ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rotary transformer

A rotary transformer is like the magic wand that lets you move energy from one place to another without any wires. Imagine you have two toys - a car and a train - and you want to send power from the car's battery to the train's motor. Instead of using a wire, you can use a rotary transformer. It's like a spinning top that has two parts - one part is on the car and the other part is on the train.

When the car's top spins, it generates a special kind of energy called magnetic fields. These magnetic fields wiggle back and forth, like when you shake a toy rattle. The other top, on the train, wiggles too, because it can feel the magnetic fields spinning around. When the train's top wiggles, it makes a tiny electric current flow through the train's motor, which makes it move!

So the rotary transformer is like the high-speed messenger that sends the energy from the car to the train without needing any wires. It's a clever toy that lets us move power around without any tangling cables, just like magic!
