ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Royal Institution

The Royal Institution is a fancy place in England where people who are really smart and interested in science go to learn and explore. It's like a big house or building where there are lots of different rooms with different tools and machines to help people learn about science.

The Royal Institution has been around for a really long time - even longer than your mommy and daddy have been alive! In fact, it was started in the 1700s by a group of people who wanted to make science fun and exciting for everyone, not just the really smart people. They would have really cool experiments and demonstrations that would make everyone's jaws drop!

Today, the Royal Institution still does really cool science experiments and has all kinds of fun events that people can go to. They also have a really famous Christmas lecture series, which is when a really smart person talks about science in a way that everyone can understand. So, if you ever want to learn about science and have some fun, you can go to the Royal Institution!
