ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Royal Pavilion

The royal pavilion is like a really fancy and beautiful building where important people like kings and queens used to go to take a break from ruling their countries. It's like their special vacation house where they could relax and have fun.

It is located in a place called Brighton, which is a seaside town in England. The royal pavilion was built a long time ago, like over 200 years ago, for a really important man who was called the Prince Regent.

The reason why the royal pavilion looks so cool and different from other buildings is because it was inspired by buildings from India and China that the Prince Regent saw on his travels. So it has a mix of styles, like a bit of Europe, India, and China.

The building has beautiful gardens surrounding it, and inside, there are big rooms with fancy furniture and decorations, like chandeliers and beautiful painted walls. Imagine a big palace, but even more colorful and decorated.

Even though nobody lives there anymore, people can still visit the royal pavilion and learn about the history of the building and the people who used to live there.
