Rube Goldberg machine

A Rube Goldberg machine is a contraption or device that uses a chain reaction to do a simple task in a very complicated way. For example, you might make a machine that starts with a marble that rolls down a tube. That marble hits a cup, which tips over and hits a toy car. The car rolls across the floor and knocks into a book, which tips over and turns on a fan. The fan blows a paper airplane, which then lands in a basket. That's the simple task being done in a complicated way!
