ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rudolf Goldschmidt

Rudolf Goldschmidt was a man who lived a long time ago and did some very important things that have helped us understand how the world works.

He was born in Germany in 1872 and grew up to become a scientist, which means he spent his life studying things and trying to learn more about them.

One thing he was very interested in studying was something called genetics, which is all about how living things pass traits down from one generation to the next. Rudolf Goldschmidt did a lot of experiments to try and figure out how this worked, and his ideas helped other scientists learn more about genetics too.

But that's not all! Rudolf Goldschmidt also did some important research on something called embryology, which is all about how animals and humans grow and develop before they're born. He figured out some things about how certain body parts form and grow, and his discoveries helped other scientists understand more about how we become the way we are.

Overall, Rudolf Goldschmidt was a really smart and curious person who spent his life trying to learn more about the world around him. Thanks to his hard work and discoveries, other scientists have been able to learn even more and make even more discoveries themselves!
