Runway safety area

A runway safety area is a special section of land at the end of a runway that helps keep planes and people safe. Picture a big long strip of asphalt where airplanes can land and take off. At the very end of this strip, there is a special area filled with soft grass and dirt. Think of it like a big cushion for airplanes in case they need to stop suddenly or accidentally go off the end of the runway.

This grassy area is called a runway safety area because it helps prevent accidents by giving planes and their passengers extra protection. Imagine playing on a playground with a soft, bouncy surface underneath – it’s kind of like that but for airplanes!

Airports all over the world use these safety areas as an extra layer of protection to keep everyone who works and travels through the airport as safe as possible.
