ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rural

Okay kiddo, so let me explain to you what the word "rural" means. Do you know what a city is? It's a place where there are many buildings close together, lots of people, and a lot of traffic. A rural area is the opposite of a city. It's a place where there are not many buildings, fewer people, and not a lot of traffic.

When you drive out of the city and you see farms, fields, and countryside, that's a rural area. Rural areas are usually less busy and quieter than cities. They are a bit like a cozy little village. People who live in rural areas usually have wide-open spaces around them, and they have to travel longer distances to get to shops, schools, and other places.

Some of the cool things about rural areas are that you can see a lot of animals like cows, sheep, and horses. Also, you can have a big garden to play in or grow food, and sometimes there are even forests to explore. Does that make sense to you, kid?
