ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Rural free delivery

Rural free delivery is when mail carriers bring letters and packages directly to people who live in rural areas instead of them having to go to the post office to pick it up. Basically, it means that instead of living far away from a post office and having to go get your mail, the mail comes directly to your mailbox at home. This makes it easier for people who live in the countryside to get their mail without having to travel a long way. Rural free delivery started a long time ago when people in rural areas didn't have easy access to the post office and it was difficult to get mail.
