Russia–Turkey relations
Okay kiddo, so Russia and Turkey are two big countries that are next to each other. They haven't always been friends, but they also haven't always been enemies either.
Back in 2015, there was a big conflict going on in Syria, which is another country near Russia and Turkey. Russia was helping the Syrian government in the conflict, while Turkey was helping a group that was opposing the Syrian government. Because of this, Russia and Turkey weren't very happy with each other.
But then something happened that made things even worse. In November of 2015, Turkey shot down a Russian military jet that had entered Turkish airspace. This made Russia really mad, and they even put some sanctions on Turkey.
After that, things started to cool down a bit. Russia and Turkey began to talk more and even signed some agreements together. They also started trading with each other more. This made both countries happy, because they both have things the other one needs.
However, there are still some issues that Russia and Turkey don't agree on. For example, Russia supports a group that Turkey disagrees with in Syria, and Turkey supports a group that Russia doesn't like. But they are still talking and trying to work things out.
