Russia-Ukraine gas dispute

So, imagine you and your friend have a toy that you both like playing with. But then, one day, your friend decides that they don't want to share the toy with you anymore unless you give them something else in return. You don't really have anything else to give them, but you still really want to play with the toy.

That's kind of like what's happening between Russia and Ukraine with their gas. Russia has a lot of gas that Ukraine needs, but Russia wants Ukraine to pay more money for it than they did before. Ukraine doesn't have much more money to give, so they've been struggling to come to an agreement.

This has caused some problems because Ukraine relies on gas from Russia to keep their homes and businesses warm during the winter. Russia has even cut off the gas supply to Ukraine a few times because they couldn't agree on a price.

This dispute has been going on for many years now and has had a big impact on both countries. It's like a big fight over a toy that neither side really wants to give up.
