SABRE (rocket engine)

Okay kiddo, have you ever seen a rocket launch and wondered how it can go so high up into space? Well, one important thing that helps rockets fly is called an engine. And a type of rocket engine that is really cool is called a Sabre engine!

So, what makes the Sabre engine so special? Well, it's designed to work like two engines in one. At first, it works like a traditional jet engine, taking in air from the atmosphere around it and burning fuel to make it go really fast. But, when the rocket needs to go higher where there isn't as much air, the Sabre engine switches over to working like a rocket engine, using fuel and oxygen from onboard tanks to keep going.

The Sabre engine is also designed to avoid some of the problems that other rockets have when flying at super high speeds. One big challenge is that the air is really hot and can melt the parts of the rocket if they get too hot. But the Sabre engine has a special cooling system that can chill the air as it comes in and prevent any damage.

So, essentially the Sabre engine is like a really smart engine that can switch gears depending on what kind of flying it needs to do. It's pretty incredible!
