ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

SAMPL

Sampling is a way to collect data from a larger group (like all people in America or all the people who use a certain product). Instead of asking everyone in the group to answer questions or fill out a survey, a researcher might use sampling. That means they ask questions from a smaller group that is chosen to represent the bigger group. The smaller group is called the sample. By studying the answers from this sample, researchers can make assumptions and draw conclusions about the larger population.
