SMCV

SMCV stands for "supplementary motor cortex volume" and it's basically a fancy way of talking about a part of your brain that helps you plan and execute movements.

Imagine you're going to play a game of catch with a friend. Your brain has to do a lot of work to make sure you catch the ball successfully. First, your eyes have to see the ball coming. Then, your brain has to tell your arm and hand exactly where to move in order to catch the ball. That's where SMCV comes in.

The SMCV is a part of your brain that helps plan out movements like catching a ball. It "talks" to other parts of your brain like the cerebellum and the primary motor cortex to make sure your movements are smooth and accurate. Think of it like the conductor of an orchestra, making sure all the different instruments (or brain regions) are playing together in harmony.

Scientists have found that people with larger SMCV tend to be better at complex movements, like playing a musical instrument or performing a dance routine. So if you want to get good at something that requires a lot of movement planning and coordination, you might want to thank your SMCV for doing its job!
