ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

SVG filter effects

SVG filter effects are like magic glasses that you can use to change the way an image looks. You know how you can put sunglasses over your eyes and everything looks a little bit darker or more yellow? SVG filter effects work kind of like that, but for pictures and other graphics you might see on a computer.

When you put on the sunglasses, light has to go through a special layer that changes the way it looks before it gets to your eyes. Filters work the same way - they add a layer to an SVG image that changes how it looks before it gets to your screen.

There are lots of different things you can do with filters. You can make colors brighter or darker, blur the image around the edges, make it look like it's glowing, and more! Filters are like little instructions that tell your computer how to change the look of an image in a certain way.

That's a very basic explanation of SVG filter effects. They can get pretty complicated, but the idea is simple - you can use filters to make a picture look different without actually changing the original image. It's like using magic glasses to see the world in a whole new way!
