Sacbe

A sacbe is kind of like a road, but it's not like the roads we have today with cars and buses. Long, long ago, in a place called Mesoamerica, which is now parts of Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras, people built these special paths to connect important locations, such as cities or temples.

The word "sacbe" actually means "white road" because they were made by lining up stones and then covering them with chalk or white plaster. They looked like a long, flat and bright white line on the ground.

People used these sacbes for walking, carrying goods or even for religious ceremonies. They were made to last a long time and some of them are still visible today, even though they were made thousands of years ago! It's like a piece of history that you can still walk on today.
