ELI5: Explain Like I'm 5

Salat times

Salat times are when it's time to pray for Muslims.

Muslims pray five times a day, and each of those prayers has a specific time when it's supposed to happen. The salat times are determined by the position of the sun throughout the day.

The first prayer, called Fajr, happens just before sunrise. This is when it's still dark outside, and birds might just be waking up. The second prayer, called Zuhr, happens around noon when the sun is high in the sky.

The third prayer, called Asr, happens in the afternoon, and it's when the sun starts to dip lower. The fourth prayer, called Maghrib, happens right after the sun sets when the sky turns pink and orange. The fifth and final prayer, called Isha, happens at night.

Muslims are supposed to pray at these specific times every day to keep in touch with their religion and connect with Allah. They might use a prayer mat and go to a mosque to pray, or they might pray at home.

The salat times are an important part of Muslim culture and are a way to stay connected to their faith throughout the day.
